About the game
Hold the meadow at dusk against a realistic honeybee swarm and a glossy hornet raider, flying an origami dragonfly. Two puffs of light at a time — make them count.
As the light goes, a swarm of honeybees pours out of wild wax comb hanging from a branch, settles into formation, then peels off to dive at your origami dragonfly. The bees are drawn from life: banded, hairy workers carrying pollen, stout drones, and a long glossy queen with her marking dot, on veined wings, in front of real hexagonal comb. Only two puffs of light can be in the air at once, so every shot has to be chosen, not sprayed. Queens take two hits and score far more when caught mid-dive with their drone escorts. A queen can open a honey beam and carry your dragonfly away — puff her and it returns, flying twice the light. From round 2 a hornet hunts across the field: it takes three puffs and is worth double if you stop it mid-dive. Flower rounds drop the attack for a bonus pattern, the rounds keep getting faster, and three camera views let you fly close behind the dragonfly, classic, or straight on. Play a friend with a room code, eleven languages and gamepad support. The realistic take on Sky Hive, for older players.
How to play
- Touch the RIGHT side with your other hand to puff light, and hold it down to keep puffing. Only two puffs can be in the air at once, so make them count.
- The swarm parks in a grid, then peels off to swoop at you. Puff them before they reach you.
- A Queen can drop a honey beam and carry your glider away. Puff that Queen and your glider flies back — two gliders, two puffs!
- From round 2 a hornet hunts across the field. It takes three puffs and may dive at you — worth 800, or 1600 if you stop it mid-dive.
- Every fourth round the bugs only dance — they never dive. Puff all of them for a big bonus.
- Tap the camera button, or press C, V or the View button, to switch views: classic, close behind your dragonfly, or straight on.
