Về trò chơi

Ô Ăn Quan in 3D: sow polished pebbles and seashells round a carved board, take the quan, climb a ladder of twelve Vietnamese animals, solve puzzles and learn in ten lessons.

Ô Ăn Quan is the sowing game Vietnamese children have played in courtyards and on pavements for generations: twelve pits, five small stones in each of ten, and a big quan stone in each half-circle pit at the ends. Sow a pit round the board one stone at a time, and when your sowing stops before an empty pit, take the heap that follows. A quan is worth ten.

Play at a low table under a banyan in a village yard, on a carved jackfruit-wood board with mother-of-pearl inlay or on sand with the lines drawn in chalk. Watch every stone hop from pit to pit, with a speed control and a skip button.

Climb the Ladder through twelve animals from Vietnamese villages and regions. Four computer levels see what you see, and the Master plays endgames perfectly. Learn in ten interactive lessons, solve machine-composed thế cờ puzzles that have exactly one best move, and change any regional rule on the Rules screen. The whole board fits on screen, on a phone held upright or a seatback screen. Twelve languages, offline, in one file.

Cách chơi

  1. Twelve pits in a ring: ten small pits, five on each side, and a half-circle quan pit at each end. Each small pit starts with 5 dân. Each quan pit starts with one quan, a big stone worth 10 dân.
  2. Pick up all the stones in one of your small pits and sow them one by one, one in each next pit, clockwise or counter-clockwise as you choose. You never sow from a quan pit.
  3. When your last stone is down, look at the next pit. If it is a small pit with stones, pick those up and keep sowing the same way. If it is a quan pit with anything in it, your turn ends.
  4. If the next pit is empty, look at the pit after it. If that one holds stones, you capture all of them. If the pit after the capture is empty again and the one beyond it holds stones, you capture that as well, and so on.
  5. A quan pit holding its quan can always be captured. After the quan is taken, the pit goes on collecting dân, and it can be captured only when it holds at least 5 (a switch below).
  6. If you must move and your row is empty, put back 5 of your captured dân, one in each pit. With fewer than 5 you borrow the rest from your opponent's captures and pay them back in the count. If that cannot be done, the game ends.
