Real 3D badminton you play with one finger: swipe up to clear, down to smash, tap to drop it short. A 30-level Tour across five venues, an endless Gauntlet, and a shuttle that flies like the real thing.

Airporio Badminton is 3D singles badminton played with a swipe. Up sends the shuttle high to the back: a clear from overhead, a lift from the net. Down attacks: a smash from overhead, a kill at the net, and if you swipe hard and early your player jumps for it. A tap is touch: a drop from the back, a net shot at the net. Sideways aims, and the length of the swipe is the pace. Your player runs to the shuttle for you; the timing is yours.

The shuttle is the game. It leaves the strings faster than any ball and slows within a few metres, turns over nose first, and falls almost straight down at the end of its flight, so a clear to the back line and a drop to the net are a long way apart. Every flight is worked out with real drag, not scripted. Move your opponent and send the next one where they are not; play the same shot to the same place and they will be standing there.

The Tour takes you through five venues - a four-court hall on club night, a school gym whose low roof is in play, an outdoor court in the park on a still evening, a timber hall at 1,800 m where thin air carries the shuttle long, and the finals arena on the green mat - in 30 levels: drills with a coach (clears, drops, serving, net shots, lifts, smashes, defence, the four corners) and matches against named opponents from beginner upward, each venue ending with its final. Earn up to three stars a level. Then the Gauntlet: one game against a stronger opponent every round, three lives, no last round.

Real rules: every rally scores, games to 21 by two with setting to 30, low and flick serves from the right court on even scores and the left on odd, diagonally into the service court. Quick games in shorter formats, five camera views starting from behind your player, a hand-written highlife theme with its own Music button, and the sounds of a real hall. Eleven languages. One self-contained file with no network requests, so it plays offline at 38,000 feet.

1. Badminton: every rally scores a point. A game is to 21 and must be won by two; at 29-all the next point wins. Whoever wins the rally serves next.
2. Serve: from the right court when your score is even, from the left when it is odd, diagonally into the opposite service court, hit from below 1.15 m. It must pass the short service line. In a rally the shuttle may not touch the floor: land it inside the singles lines on the other side.
3. Hit with a swipe anywhere on the screen (with a mouse, drag and let go; on a keyboard, the arrow keys; on a controller, the right stick). There are no shot buttons: the swipe is the stroke.
4. Timing: swipe as the ring in the air closes on the shuttle. Too early and you swing at nothing; late and you take it low, with fewer strokes to choose from. An ordinary, well-timed stroke lands in; full power and the lines are the risk.
5. Move your opponent: a shuttle falls almost straight down at the end of its flight, so a clear to the back line and a drop to the net are a long way apart. Send the next one where they are not. Play the same shot to the same place and they will be standing there.
6. Moving: your player runs to the shuttle for you. To move yourself, set Movement to Left stick in Settings.
7. Camera: the camera button (or C) changes the view: behind your player, over the shoulder, side on, high and wide, and overhead.
8. Music and sound: the note button switches the music off and leaves the sounds of the game; Sound (or M) switches everything off.
