About the game

The classic star-board marble game in 3D: hop your marbles across a night-market table against cute animal opponents, 2 to 6 players, with teams, a 12-stage campaign and a guided tutorial.

Chinese Checkers (跳棋) is the classic star-shaped marble race: step or hop every marble across the board into the opposite corner before anyone else. Play it on a lacquered board at a lantern-lit Taiwanese night-market table, against a cast of cute animal opponents: a Formosan black bear, a fox, a sika deer, a koala, a Shiba pup, a cat, a rabbit and a red panda. Each has a name, a personality and a few things to say.

Hop over any marble, chain hops into long runs, build ladders for your own marbles and block the opponents' ladders. Play 2, 3, 4 or 6 players, free-for-all or in teams (2 against 2, 2v2v2 or 3 against 3), on the full 10-marble board or the fast 6-marble one, with Super jump and a Blocker rule as options. Four computer levels (Rookie, Regular, Expert, Master) look at the board exactly the way you do.

The Night Market Circuit is a twelve-stage campaign through Shilin, Tamsui, Jiufen and Kenting with three stars a stage, and unlocks new animals, tablecloths and marbles. A six-lesson interactive tutorial teaches hopping, chains and ladders on the real board, and a hint button explains its suggestion. Look from anywhere: orbit, zoom, pan and turn the board, or jump to a preset view, including a close-up. Twelve languages, controller and keyboard support, no network needed.

How to play

  1. Move all your marbles from your corner across the board into the opposite corner. The first side to fill its target triangle wins.
  2. On your turn move one marble: either one step to a neighbouring empty hole, or a hop.
  3. A hop jumps over one neighbouring marble (any colour, nothing is captured) into the empty hole straight behind it. After a hop you may hop again with the same marble, and you may stop after any hop.
  4. With 4 or 6 players you can play in teams. Partners sit opposite each other. A team wins when every member has filled their own target triangle.
  5. Fast: 6 marbles each on a smaller triangle. Super jump: a marble may hop over a distant marble if the same number of empty holes lies beyond it. Blocker rule: one stuck opponent marble in your goal does not stop you from finishing.
  6. The first side to fill its goal wins. If a game goes on for too long, the side that has travelled furthest wins.
