عن اللعبة

A 3D three-point shooting contest: five racks round the arc, money balls worth double, sixty seconds on the clock. A 30-level Tour across five courts, and an endless Gauntlet.

Three-Point Contest is a 3D shooting contest played with one finger. Touch and hold and your shooter dips and rises with the ball; let go just before the top of the jump and it is on its way. Drag up for a higher arc, lean the drag to aim off for the wind.

Five racks stand round the arc with five balls on each, and you have sixty seconds. A ball is worth one point, the last ball of each rack is a money ball worth two, and on one rack of your choosing every ball is a money ball - 34 points at most. Shoot straight off the catch and your hand is steadier; shoot too fast and your legs go, the ball starts dropping short, and the mark on the release meter moves to tell you so.

The Tour runs through five courts - a quiet practice gym, a city court with a chain net and a breeze, a painted slab on the beach at sunset with the wind across it, a rooftop at night where it gusts, and a full arena - in 30 levels: drills for the corners, the money rack, tired legs and clean makes, head-to-head duels, and contests where four shooters take a round each and the best two meet in a final. Earn up to three stars a level. Then the Gauntlet: duel after duel against better and better shooters, three lives, no last round.

Underneath is a real ball: drag, backspin, wind, a steel ring it can rattle round and fall through or spin out of, a board, and a net that the ball pulls through. Opponents shoot whole rounds through the same controls you do, with their own rhythm, nerve and legs.

Five camera views including one from behind your shooter, separate Music and Sound switches, portrait or landscape, eleven languages, touch, mouse, keyboard or gamepad. One self-contained file with no network requests, so it plays offline at 38,000 feet.

طريقة اللعب

  1. The contest. Five racks stand round the arc, five balls on each. You have 60 seconds to shoot them all. A ball is worth 1; the last ball of every rack is a money ball worth 2; and on one rack of your choosing every ball is a money ball. The most you can score is 34.
  2. The buzzer. A ball that has left your hand before the buzzer counts if it goes in. One let go after it does not.
  3. Rounds. In a contest four shooters take a round each and the best two go through to a final. A tie in the final is settled by a 30-second shoot-off.
  4. Touch and hold anywhere: your shooter dips and rises. Let go to release the ball. Just before the top of the jump is right. Earlier and the ball flies long; later and it drops short.
  5. Drag up while you hold to set the arc: a short drag is a flat shot, a long one a high one. A middling arc is the kindest to the ring.
  6. Lean the drag left or right to aim off, for the wind outdoors. The arrow shows where the air is going.
  7. Rhythm and legs. Starting a shot the moment the ball reaches your hands steadies your aim. Every jump costs your legs a little, and tired legs leave the ball short: let go a touch earlier, or take a breath.
  8. Keyboard: hold Space and let go; the arrows aim and set the arc. Gamepad: hold A; the left stick aims.
  9. Camera: the camera button, the C key or the View button changes the view. The game remembers your choice.
  10. Music and Sound have a button each at the top of the screen (N and M on a keyboard).

لقطات الشاشة

  • Behind your shooter in a full arena: both arms held up after the release, the ball in the air on its way to the ring.
  • Close behind your shooter on the beach court at sunset: the ball raised over his head, the ring and two palms ahead.
  • The city court from the television camera: your shooter at a rack on the left wing, his ball arriving at the ring.
  • Looking down from above the board on a rooftop at night: the ball coming at the ring, the shooter at the top of the arc.
  • The practice gym from high behind your shooter: he lifts a ball off the rack, and another ball drops toward the ring.
  • The results sheet after a contest won 21-15: two stars, a map of makes and misses rack by rack, and the scores.
