About the game

An open farm to play in. Move the animals and the people wherever you like, milk the cow, plant and water the crops, and turn what you grow into food. No score, no timer, nothing to lose.

Clover Hollow is a calm, open-ended farm sandbox for younger players and for anyone who wants something unhurried. Four places sit a tap apart — the barn, the house, the field and the store — and every one of the sixteen characters can be picked up and carried between them.

In the barn you can milk the cow into a pail, gather eggs from the nest, shear the sheep, fill the trough with hay, treat an animal with the vet kit, sweep up a mess, or let the pig roll in the mud. In the house you can cook in the pot, wash up at the sink, stock the fridge, play the banjo or the fiddle, and put someone to bed. Out in the field you plant a seed, water it from the well, watch it come up through four stages, and pull it when it is ripe — or drive the tractor along the beds and harvest the whole row at once. Apples come off the tree and berries off the bush.

Everything you gather can go to the store. Drop two things into the food machine, pull the lever, and see what comes out of the chute: milk becomes cheese, wheat becomes bread, bread and jam become a donut, cheese and corn become cheese puffs. Nine recipes are waiting. Sell at the register, buy from the crates, and fill the shelves however you want.

There is no score, no timer and no way to fail. The Farm Journal quietly ticks off the twenty-seven things there are to discover, and you can switch it off if you would rather not keep track. Farm Setup lets you change the day length, how fast crops grow, how much the animals give, and whether messes appear at all.
