About the game
Explore a whole island vale: grow a garden, walk into every home, win the harbour fishing derby, and open up the woods and the hill.
Acorn Vale is a village life sim with a job always on the go. A gold marker shows where to head next: meet the mayor, plant and water your first turnips, sell the harvest at the Trading Post, make a fruit pie at your workbench and donate your finds to the Hall. The vale has seven places to explore - the Village, the Garden, the Harbour, the Orchard, the Riverside, the Whispering Woods and Lookout Hill - and some of them you open up yourself: mend the Old Bridge, clear the rockfall, light the beacon. Every door leads into a furnished room, from your own home to your neighbours' houses, the shop and the Hall where your specimens go on show. Win Gil's Fishing Derby, race Pelly's parcels across the village, hunt thirty golden acorns and keep the Notice Board's jobs coming, each one bigger than the last. Play alone or with a friend.
How to play
- Acorn Vale runs on the clock. Wander your valley, gather what it gives you, sell the rest, and turn a bare plot into a home the neighbours want to visit.
- The gold line under your readouts is your current job, and a gold diamond floats over where it happens — an arrow at the screen's edge points the way when it is out of sight. Tap the line, press N, or use the book button for the Journal: your jobs, the Notice Board and the map.
- Plant seed packets in the Garden beds south of the plaza, water each sprout (a blue drop means thirsty), and pick the bed when it sparkles. Crops sell well and neighbours ask for them. Choose which seed to plant from your pockets.
- The vale has seven places: the Village, the Garden, the Harbour, the Orchard, Riverside, the Whispering Woods and Lookout Hill. Every door opens — walk in, and step back onto the mat to leave. Golden acorns are hidden all over.
- Bare hands shake trees and pull weeds. The net catches bugs — walk, do not run, or they bolt. The rod casts at a shadow: wait for the dip, then act. The shovel digs star-cracks and knocks bells out of rocks. The axe brings down wood.
- The Trading Post buys anything and sells furniture and tools. The Hollow Hall takes one of each bug, fish and fossil. Your loan grows the house; the House Editor arranges it. Talk to your neighbours often and they warm to you.
- Your rating counts what you have donated, what your home is worth, how your neighbours feel and how tidy the valley is. It is saved with your vale.
- Change the view with the camera button beside pause, the C key, or a gamepad's View button: Follow, Close behind your villager, or Overhead. Your choice is kept.
