About the game

Ask Holmes yes-or-no questions about hats, hair and scarves, cross off the suspects who do not fit and find the culprit.

Sherlock Holmes and the Baker Street Line-Up is a deduction game for children. Somebody in the line-up did it. Choose what to ask about, Hats, Hair, Beards, Glasses, Scarves or Freckles, then pick a picture: does the culprit have a top hat, ginger hair, a monocle? Holmes answers yes or no, and every suspect who does not fit is crossed off. Keep asking until one face is left, then tap them to accuse. A wrong guess never ends the case; that suspect is crossed off, it costs a question, and you carry on.

The fewer questions you need, the better. Holmes asks whether you can find the culprit in eight questions, a solved case earns a rank from Constable up to Consulting Detective, and your best so far is kept. In Setup you choose how many suspects stand in the line-up, from Easier to Harder, and the number of questions follows the board. Then start Another case with a new culprit.

How to play

  1. Twenty-four suspects. One of them did it. Ask me questions and I will tell you yes or no — then cross off everybody who does not fit. Can you find the culprit in eight questions?
  2. Only one suspect left. Tap them to accuse!
