About the game
Official-rules Chinese mahjong (MCR) in 3D: 13-tile hands, an 8-fan minimum, all 81 fans with a line-by-line breakdown, four levels of cute animal opponents, a tea-house tournament ladder and a hands-on tutorial.
Chinese Mahjong (å›½æ ‡éº»å°†, Mahjong Competition Rules) is the tournament version of the game played around the world: thirteen-tile hands, four sets and a pair, 144 tiles with flowers, and one rule that changes how you play, a hand must be worth at least 8 fan to win. Sit down in a lantern-lit tea house with lacquer pillars, a silk carpet and a green-baize table, and play against three animal opponents: a giant panda, a koala, a golden snub-nosed monkey, a jade rabbit, a hamster, a milu deer, a red panda and a referee tiger. Each has a name, a personality and plenty to say.
The game follows the official rulebook: all 81 fans from Big Four Winds to Self-Drawn with the real exclusion and combination rules (a set is counted once), åƒ ç¢° æ å’Œ with the usual priority and one winner per discard, flowers worth one point each and never towards the 8, and payments of 8 plus the fan with no dealer bonus. A Fan list shows every fan with a real winning hand, a line-by-line breakdown follows every win, and hints name the fans your hand is heading for. Your hand can never make a false win: a hand that is complete but too cheap simply has no Win button. Choose a single hand, one round, half a match or the full sixteen hands, and lower the minimum while you are learning. Four computer levels (Rookie, Regular, Expert, Master) see the table exactly as you do. Points only: no money, no stakes.
The Tournament Ladder is a twelve-stage climb through four halls of the tea house with three stars a stage, and unlocks new animals, felts and tile backs. An eight-lesson interactive tutorial teaches sets and the pair, drawing and discarding, claiming, the 8-fan minimum, counting a hand fan by fan, winning on a discard, self-draw and flowers on the real table. Pick the seat view, an overhead view, the whole table in one tap, a table-corner view or a close-up, then orbit, pan and zoom freely or turn the table itself; phones in portrait get a two-row hand with tiles you can read. Twelve languages (Simplified Chinese by default on Chinese devices, every fan named in each), touch, keyboard and controller support, no network needed.
How to play
- Build a hand of four sets and a pair (14 tiles). A set is three alike (pung), four alike (kong) or a run of three in one suit (chow).
- Draw a tile, then discard one. Tap a tile to select it and tap it again to discard.
- When someone discards a tile you can use, press Pung for three alike, Kong for four, or Chow for a run (only from the player before you).
- Win by drawing the last tile yourself (self-draw) or by claiming a discard. A win beats a pung or kong, which beats a chow. Only one player can win on a discard: the first after the discarder.
- Flower tiles go aside and are replaced. Each flower is worth 1 point, but flowers never count towards the 8 fan you need: reach 8 with patterns first.
- A win must be worth at least 8 fan. Fan come from patterns: sets of dragons and winds, one-suit hands, runs, pairs and many more (81 in all: see Fans). Every loser pays 8 plus the fan; a discarder pays for the others too. Points only.
