About the game

A memory-match card game: clear board after board against the clock in Endless, or play Classic, Twist Mode and two-player.

Double Take is a memory-match card game. The cards start face down; flip two each turn, and if they make a pair they stay face up.

Endless is the main game: clear board after board before the clock runs out. Each board opens with a short glimpse of every card, then turns them face down. A match adds time, and a streak of matches scores more. A miss costs a little time; a slip, turning a card you have already seen or missing when you had already seen the right one, costs a lot, so remembering beats guessing. Every board is bigger than the last and the clock runs faster, up to thirty-six cards. Gold cards pay triple and add time, look-alikes share a picture but differ in colour and dots, and from board 3 cards swap places after misses while you watch. Peek shows every card for a moment, for a price in time.

Classic is a straight find-the-same-icon match scored in moves and time. In Twist Mode every card also has a tilt and a spin, and a banner announces the rule, which changes every three matches between same or different icon, tilt and spin. Local 2-Player takes turns on one screen, and Play a Friend opens a game over the net with a six-digit room code and deals you both the same cards.

How to play

  1. Flip two cards each turn to find a pair.
  2. Endless: clear board after board before the clock runs out. A match adds time; each board is bigger and the clock runs faster.
  3. A miss costs a little time. A slip costs a lot: turning a card you have already seen, or missing when you had already seen the right one. Remember, don't guess.
  4. Peek shows every card for a moment. It costs time in Endless and moves in Classic.
  5. Gold cards pay triple and add time. Look-alikes share a picture but differ in colour and dots. From board 3, cards swap places after misses: watch them move.
  6. Classic matches the same icon. Twist Mode changes the rule — watch the banner.
  7. Local 2-Player: take turns — a match earns another turn.
  8. Clear the board in as few moves as possible.
