About the game

An interactive telling of Sleeping Beauty in which she makes the decisions. Twenty-two decision points, twelve endings, forty illustrations.

Perrault's court leaves the eighth fairy off the list because there are only seven gold plates. That is the whole tale in one object: a household with a counting problem and a person who does not fit the count.

One decision belongs to her mother — a single decision made about her before she could speak. Everything after it is hers. The tale forks hard at the spindle: take it and the hundred years are yours, and the sleep is not a gap — she is awake inside it and decides when, or whether, to come out. Refuse it and she gets a whole life with an unspent curse in a locked room, and a second spindle at forty when she is tired enough for it to matter.

Every telling passes through one meeting. A young man arrives in all of them; what changes is where, what she already is when he does, and what he has been told about her. Whether he stays is still hers.

No score, no timer, no fail state. Read, choose, and the tale goes somewhere.
