About the game

Clear the whole board by matching free tiles two at a time. The full 144-tile mahjong set, five boards, and a layout editor - and every deal is guaranteed solvable.

Mahjong is tile-matching solitaire played with a complete 144-tile mahjong set: three suits, the four winds, three dragons, and the flowers and seasons. Take two matching tiles off the board, but only while they are free - nothing resting on top, and the left or right side open. Flowers match any flower and seasons match any season; everything else must be an exact pair.

Every board is dealt from a reverse-solve, so a solution always exists - and Shuffle re-deals the tiles still on the table into another solvable position rather than leaving you stranded. Hint, Undo and Shuffle can be limited or switched off entirely in Table Setup if you want the pressure.

Five boards ship: the classic 144-tile Turtle, a portrait-native Pagoda, Bridge, Crab and a quick 72-tile Blossom. The Layout Editor lets you place and remove tiles layer by layer and build your own board, and it refuses to deal an arrangement that cannot be solved.

The clock is the score: clearing a board records your time, and the fastest ten per board are kept. Runs entirely offline with no network access, no accounts, no ads and no purchases.

How to play

  1. Tap two matching tiles to take them off the board. Clear every tile to win.
  2. A tile can only be taken when it is free: nothing resting on top of it, and its left or right side is open.
  3. Blocked tiles are shaded. Tap a free tile to select it, tap it again to deselect.
  4. Any flower matches any other flower, and any season matches any other season. Everything else must be an exact pair.
  5. Every board is dealt solvable. Use Hint, Undo and Shuffle from the dock if you get stuck.
  6. The clock is your score - a cleared board records your time. Faster is better.
  7. Play climbs the levels: bigger boards, trickier deals, fewer assists. Clear a level for one star, beat par for two, and beat par without Hint, Undo or Shuffle for three.
  8. Expert deals hide traps. When three of a tile are free and the fourth is pinned under or beside one of them, take that one first.
