About the game

An original, fully offline number-place puzzle. Every grid has exactly one answer and can be solved by logic alone — never by guessing.

Sudoku is a number-place logic puzzle built for offline in-flight entertainment. Fill the grid so every row, every column and every box contains each number exactly once.

Every puzzle is generated on the device and proved before it is ever shown. A human-technique solver — single candidates, locked candidates, matched and hidden pairs, triples, X-Wing and XY-Wing — must be able to finish the grid before it is accepted, so no puzzle ever requires a guess, and each one has exactly one answer.

Four difficulties (Gentle, Steady, Tricky, Fiendish) set both the deepest technique needed and how many squares are given. Three grid sizes — 4x4, 6x6 and 9x9 — suit a short hop or a long haul. A Daily Puzzle is derived from the calendar date, so every passenger on every aircraft gets the same grid with no network involved.

Pencil notes, an undo history, and hints that name the logic they used (and explain it in your language) help when a grid gets stubborn. Three lives are the default; turn Mistake Check off in Game Setup for the pure pen-and-paper game, where nothing is marked and lives do not apply.

Puzzle Studio lets you enter a grid of your own — from a newspaper, or invented — and tells you whether it has no answer, several, or exactly one before you play it.

Ten languages, full controller support, touch and keyboard, both orientations, and no network connection of any kind.

How to play

  1. Each row, each column and each box must contain every number exactly once.
  2. Turn on Notes to pencil in the numbers a square could still take.
  3. A wrong number costs a life. Run out and the puzzle ends — turn lives off in Game Setup for the classic pen-and-paper game.
  4. A hint solves one square and names the logic that found it. Each one costs points.
